Christian Music For Kids

Christian Music For Children is what Ralph The Fish is all about. I am Brian Hill, and I want to share some of my songs I have written for kids ages 3-8 years old. I lead the preschool music for vacation Bible school at our church, and that is the reason I wrote most of these songs. I have thoroughly enjoyed sharing these songs throughout the years. I have hoped, as I’ve sung these songs, that some part of the biblical message that is included in most of these songs would “stick” in the kids’ heads. I continue to pull from these songs every Sunday during preschool Sunday School classes to help children learn about the Word of God and have fun at the same time. After a little repetition, I have found the songs to be very effective in helping kids learn biblical concepts, helping kids learn singing and rhythm skills, and just helping kids have some plain ol’ fun!

These songs will help Sunday School teachers get the attention of the kids and convey valuable lessons from the Bible. There are other songs included that one could use in a secular setting that will help kids learn other things such as how to spell some simple words and the primary colors. There are some “jumpin’ around” songs designed to release a little of that built up energy. There is also a song written to help motivate kids to clean up their play areas. If you encourage them during this song, I can almost guarantee success! I’ve tried it, and it works! The songs are fun and easy to sing, and can provide a change of pace from other avenues of learning.

Of course, Ralph the Fish, Red & Nat, Sammy the Super Sleuth, Curly the Crocodile, and Hank the Hippo are all fictional characters, but these characters, the lyrics and the music are copy right protected. Please do not copy or duplicate the lyrics to any of the songs without requesting permission to do so. The Marble Institute of America and Stone World combined forces this year to deliver the best quality regional education program offered in the stone industry. The 2009 program, focused on cost effective, practical, stone industry business building programs kicked off in Dallas in March. Over 50 industry professionals heard from industry experts Tony Malisani and Fred Jackson. The seminar concluded with an industry briefing and networking reception.

Leading the fabrication session, Tony Malisani of Malisani Inc (one of the industry's first accredited fabrication companies) focused heavily on making it in a tough economy. His session included analyzing the cost of doing business; exploring alternative prefab granite product lines; showcasing techniques and tips for templating, fabrication and installation; and sharing management tips that drive successful stone companies. Given the current economic conditions, much of the discussion centered around revenue and cost cutting measures needed by stone companies.

Adjacent to the fabrication session, Fred Jackson of the Estudio Group LLC, led a discussion with sales and showroom professionals about how to balance the relationship with the customer and know the product they are selling. Well known for his expertise on the geology of stone, care and maintenance and the sales side of selling natural stone, the attendees took home information they can utilize immediately.

Tommy Schlitzberger of Schlitzberger Stone Designs, Inc summed up the value of the seminar when he said, "Thank you for a great seminar. I have many years of experience in the industry and yet the seminar still showcased many new ideas we can implement in our company. Both speakers were entertaining and informative -- good choices!" Others echoed the sentiment shared by Schlitzberger, and indicated that even during economic downturns, education and training must be in the front of mind.

The seminar in Dallas was just the start. The 2009 stone industry regional education program is scheduled for several cities in the upcoming months:

The rapidly expanding popularity of countertops made of granite and other stone presents growing business opportunities for stone fabricators who must constantly upgrade to increase production to meet demand. In just the last five years alone, the number of fabrication shops in the United States has nearly doubled from around 8,000 to more than 15,000. That trend is expected to continue because market demand shows no signs of slowing down. By carefully choosing stone fabricating machines with automated equipment that can improve both production and quality, a fabricator can guarantee itself security in the industry.

If your shop is a small, 2,500-sq. ft. facility turning out one or two kitchens a week, today's market demand could easily let you grow into a medium-sized operation producing two or three kitchens a day. If you have a medium-sized shop, careful selection of automated equipment could help you become a large facility producing five to 10 kitchens a day. Regardless of a fabrication shop's size, automation will help to please builders and other customers through consistent quality work, short turnarounds, and fast delivery.

The Saw

If you are looking to grow beyond a small operation, your first consideration will be a saw. Whether manual or automatic, the heart of a shop's production is the saw. If you are not cutting enough slabs, your saw is the bottleneck to increased throughput. The amount of material cut by the saw determines what can be fed to edging, shaping, and other operations. Consider the purchase of a good bridge saw. An automated bridge saw provides a consistently clean cut at a high rate of production. Even if all of the other equipment in a shop consists of hand tools, a good bridge saw can quickly offer return on investment.

Unlike an automatic bridge saw that can cut up to 120 lineal feet of material per hour, even the best of workers operating a manual saw will rarely exceed 10 lineal feet per hour. Cost per foot on the automated saw is around $2.50 to $3.00 a running foot, compared to the hourly worker's wages and benefits plus tooling costs.

As its name implies, a bridge saw is a gantry machine tool moving on the rails of a double beam bridge. The business end is usually a tilting cutting head. Some of the better saws use an oil bath to reduce wear of the rollers and bearings running in the harsh environment of a granite shop. This provides for smoother movement than bridge saws that run on dry, open channels. The oil bath also reduces maintenance costs.

Today's technology provides for a programmable controller that automates movement of the bridge and cutting head. The most user-friendly saws place all the controls on a swinging pendant, while less friendly saws have various functions on different parts of the machine. Having all the controls on one touch-screen pendant eliminates the need for the operator to walk around to different areas for turning on the water, setting and locking the table, lifting the table, raising and lowering the head, starting the saw, and other tasks. This, in turn, increases productivity and profitability.

Bridge saws come in a variety of size and power configurations. A larger saw might have a 16-in. diamond blade to give a production rate of 120 lineal feet of 3-cm material per hour and a large cutting area of 140-in. by 140-in. Unlike smaller saws, larger ones have a large bridge height -- say7-ft. -- that allows the operator access without having to bend over to walk beneath the bridge. It also uses an efficient hydraulic tilt table that easily loads from a slab lifter or forklift.

Large saws like this will cut ten to twenty slabs of granite, marble, porcelain, and engineered stone per 8-hour shift. Smaller saws have some of the features found on the larger saws, but are less versatile and productive, and consequently less expensive. Smaller saws might be the choice of a small -to medium-sized fabrication shop, while a large facility could require two or three of the large bridge saws to maximize productivity.

FORT BELVOIR, Va. (Army News Service, May 4, 2007) -- The Army Program Executive Office Soldier will soon provide an improved Army combat shirt to Soldiers deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan.

The flame-resistant long-sleeved shirt, which retains the moisture-wicking capability, breathability, and durability of other components in the ACU, also has many of its other features, including cargo pockets, infrared identification tabs, and hook-and-loop fasteners for the American flag.

The new shirt has a foliage green torso and sleeves in the universal camouflage pattern, and sports seamless shoulders and side panels for comfort, along with integrated anti-abrasion elbow pads, and a small Army Strong logo centered on the chest.

The high performance shirt, designed to be a base layer, can be worn directly under the Interceptor Body Armor, according to Maj. Clay Williamson, assistant product manager for clothing and individual equipment.

The ACS is made of an anti-microbial cotton and rayon blend fabric treated with a new process that penetrates to the fiber level. It provides fire-resistance for the life of the garment. "It is completely safe, non-toxic, and allows us to treat fibers that were once not treatable," Maj. Williamson said.

The shirt integrates with other flame-resistant components, such as the Army combat pants, to provide head-to-toe protection against burns. The Army combat pants are the same as the ACU pants, except they are made of a flame-resistant material, according to the major. Soldiers' hands are protected by flame-resistant gloves that have been a part of the Army's Rapid Fielding Initiative.

This ensemble further complements the Army's system-of-systems approach to force protection, which integrates layers of protection for Soldiers on the battlefield.

"I want to assure the American public, the Soldiers, and their Families that they have the best equipment when and where they need it. If there were something better, we would buy it; and we're always looking for something better," said Brig. Gen. R. Mark Brown, Program Executive Officer Soldier.

NEW YORK -- Lonelygirl15, the pseudo-video diary that became a YouTube phenomenon last year, has signed its first major product placement deal with Hershey’s for its Icebreakers Sours Gum brand.

In a video posted on March 20 on the official Lonelygirl site, Lg15.com, the show’s main character Bree is seen offering her friends a piece of Icebreaker’s gum, and a close-up of the product is shown. The sponsored episode of scripted teen drama is slated to eventually be featured on YouTube and other video-sharing sites in the near future, said officials.

This level of product integration marks one of the more sophisticated examples of branded entertainment to emerge from the rapidly evolving world of amateur-created online video. The Dallas, Texas-based agency TracyLocke initiated the deal. Ad sales were handled directly by the agents from Creative Artists Agency who represent the Lonelygirl creators.

“It’s empowering for us to have major international brand like Hershey’s treat us like they would any other major entertainment property,” says Greg Goodfried, Lonelygirl15 co-creator. “Deals like this are good for the community—they help us pay our operating expenses, which has been an ongoing struggle.”

Getting a Good Google Listing and Page Rank

Getting your web site listed on Google can certainly be frustrating at times. Just when you think you have an idea of what Google wants, they change the algorithm for the search robot. I have been building web sites since 1999 and have tried to give the search engines what they want for good placement instead of trying to fool them into good placement. At times Google grabs up the new site before I submit it, at other times, they seem to ignore the site all together after trying my best to give them good content in the format they say they want. I don't think anyone knows what will work on any given day. I have used special software, with mixed results. Adweb 4-8 over the years seems to help when submitting some sites and not with others.

I have two new sites that have great content, formatted similarly to other sites that were grabbed up by Google before they were even submitted to the search engines, that have been left behind.

One of these sites that Google doesn't seem to care for is Straps and Supplies, a company that manufactures and sells heavy duty recovery straps, lifting slings, tie down systems, v-bridles , and other hardware and accessories for car carriers and tow trucks. Straps and Supplies, Inc. manufactures lifting slings that can lift 88,000 pounds. In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, this company really has a lot to offer for the hurricane recovery operations in New Orleans and the Gulf Coast area hit by Hurricane Katrina, but no one will be able to find the web site if it is not on the search engines.

This page format uses the most important keywords in the title, description and keyword lists. These keywords are also found in the header of the page and in the page text. I try not to put in any words that are not in the text or not important to the subject of the page. Each page has its own meta tags, not the same tags used over and over again on each page.

Text is very important in every page because without text there can be nothing for the search engine to read. Very little text equals very little information for the search engine to cash into its database. I try to have 400-600 words of text on every page, plus alt tags for every photo.

Popularity
Popularity is also important to Google, and this is the hardest nut to crack. Links from just any web site is not enough. The links need to be from a web site that has a google page rank of at least 3/10. The links need to be from very credible web sites or directories like DMOZ or Yahoo. The links need to be from web sites in a similar industry or subject. Wow!! How do you find a hundred sites that meat all those requirements much less get any of them to link to you? Google says that if your content is good enough, those links will just come to you...I don't think so.

I also try to do press releases using PR Leap. So far so good as most of the releases appear on the search engines. I think PR Leap is one of my best weapons for bagging google. You can pay for search engine submission at PR Leap, but if you can write on an average level and follow PR Leap's directions, you press releases will find there way to all the search engine in just a few days.

Paid Search Engine submissions

Of course there is also the paid route to search engine listings. How do those Google Ads work? Seems it is like an auction. The higher you bid for a key word the higher you are listed on the "pay side" of Google search results for any given search topic. But, at least you can get listed that way by paying a small fee to get started and then listing some key words.

Looks like the questions keep coming faster than the answers.

Google XML Site Maps

Google Sitemaps seems to work. Google Sitemaps are an easy way for you to help improve your coverage in the Google index. It's a collaborative crawling system that enables you to communicate directly with Google to keep them informed of all your web pages, and when you make changes to these pages.

With Google Sitemaps you get crawl coverage to help people find more of your web pages, fresher search results, a smarter crawl because you can provide specific information about all your web pages, such as when a page was last modified or how frequently a page changes.

The easy way to make it work is to go to http://www.sitemapspal.com and get free help creating the XML sitemap. After you have made the XML file using Sitemapspal, put a copy in your web site root directory as instructed at Sitemapspal web site and then go to Google Sitemaps and send it to google.

If you gain your visitors trust, however, they will follow your recommendations because they trust you.
Please, no one page websites--those are usually short-lived. When building a website, remember to provide answers for your visitors problems.

Rule #4: Connect with your visitors.
Visitors want to know who is behind the website. So you must have a way that they can contact you through email. Have a contact link where people can easily see it. You should use autoresponders to send out a series of sequential emails that are packed with quality information. I found this to work very well with all of my websites (as long as you present high-value content to your visitors). Autoresponders are highly effective because the sequential emails constantly remind your visitors that your site exist.
You are not maximizing your profits until you have an autoresponder in full effect. Your opt-in list will have some of your most loyal customers. If making money online has been your goal, you should definitely give autoresponders a shot.
Rule #5: Traffic is your website’s lifeblood
You will need tons of traffic in order to make money with your website. But how does one go about getting traffic? Well, there are really only two ways to get traffic: SEO and PPC advertising.
Search engine optimization involves link exchanging, article submission, one-way back links, keyword density, submitting your site to major directories, 2nd tier directories, and niche hubs directories and so much more. Doing all of the aforementioned does take a lot of work, but the pay off is huge. After a while you will begin to see your site’s keywords in the top 10 for the major search engines. This free traffic will allow your site and business to flourish. The good news about free search engine traffic is that it can last for years and years.
The other way to get traffic to your site is by using pay-per-click advertising. Unlike SEO, this kind of traffic comes instantly. The web site design industry is one of the most competitive around. Try to advertise for web design services and you are up against a host of competitive suppliers, one cheaper than the other. Makes you wonder how they do it sometimes. If you are determined to have a crack at the web site design business, you have more than likely been tempted to cut prices by offering big discounts and cut corners to get some orders. Experience will show though that offering big discounts and cutting prices is not the way forward to setting up a viable and sustainable web site design business. More important, it is not even necessary to cut prices to grow your web site design business. Why not just cut prices and grab the business? You cannot have everything in this world. If you offer big discounts something must go in order to sustain the business and this does not sound like a sound business strategy, neither for your business nor for your customers. If you are cutting prices, more than likely you are compromising the quality of the web sites or the service your web site design customers should receive for their money. Starting A New Blog

One of the hardest things in any work project is getting started. I have other blogs about sports and hobbies, but this is going to be a work blog. Here are some of the thinks I would like to accomplish with this blog;

1. I love Net Objects Fusion for building web sites. I started with it about 10 years ago building my first web site, and I still use it today. I have grown my web site designing hobby into a great small business. I want to get in touch with other web site designers who have used Net Objects for a few years in order to share ideas for building better web sites. 2. I want to improve the search engine rankings for my clients and that requires linking from real sites in the same or similar industry.
